Not only to check out what’s going on with their employees, but the interviewees for a job position too. Hence, employers may soon ask, “Excuse me, do you have a Facebook profile?” Or, they’ll ask if they may be added to your Friends.

What’s even more surprising is this comes not late after the super low-cost laptops for poverty stricken countries. But there’s nothing to complain, because more laptops means a more Internet connected community.

Sure, we’ll have more Internet addicts and black hat hackers on the prowl but at least netbooks are making technology advancements quicker. It’s become an instant hit even Wikipedia has an article about it already.

A netbook is a light-weight, low-cost, energy-efficient, highly portable laptop that achieves these parameters by offering fewer features, less processing power and reduced ability to run resource-intensive operating systems.

Adobe Creative Suite (CS) 4 Malaysia Launch

Last week I attended the Adobe Creative Suite (CS) 4 Malaysia launch at Shangri-La hotel. If I had to describe the launch in a single phrase; it’s not only cool stuff but really great stuff. I missed the earlier part of the launch due to a business networking event. But the rest of the energetic launch definitely made up for it – especially the creative evangelists; Tim Cole, Karl Soule and Paul Burnett.

I’m not going to dwell into all 16 Adobe applications; better known as the Adobe Masters Collection, as what I want to share is my first experience coming an Adobe Malaysia launching event. So you won’t find me talking a lot about the new cool and great features. But, you’ll be learning how to make an Adobe fleece jacket reach to the other end of the hall.

Open Floor Discussion With PacketOne Staff

During my recent visit to GreenPacket’s office for their special tour, a group of us with selected key staff from PacketOne Networks (P1, for short) had an open floor discussion. The discussion was to openly share what we thought of the Internet in Malaysia, its offerings and our expectation from P1.

Being the co-founder of a registered Malaysia website design company; Simpleet, I’ve to do some research on local working environments. But not to worry, because I also know about the awesome-ness of the Google office work environments. Even without having to stress about our problematic Internet connection here in Malaysia, any international or foreign expatriate living here would’ve realized our Internet connection is nothing compared to their home country.

Previously, someone from MDeC contacted me and asked my opinion of what could be limiting the potential of e-business in Malaysia. Educating Malaysia businesses on setting up Internet businesses is one but without reliable Internet connection, would you see a benefit of doing Internet business locally? Don’t even think about internationally if your Internet business is hosted in Malaysia.
