Double happiness – yes or no? We’re still in the midst of the Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival where crazy bargain hunters and shopaholic roam to conquer the malls. Then come August 1-3 the inaugural second leg of the PC Fair in Kuala Lumpur will begin. However, its bargains galore is no more now.
On the other hand, our annual PC Fair here have new reasons for geeks to flood the halls – Chicks. Just a quick update on the Malaysia Wimax scene right now and the announcement by Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) Senior Director for Technology and Standards Division, Mr. Zamani Zakariah to the four (4) Malaysia Wimax license holders:
All four mobile WiMAX operators have been given a deadline of until August next month to commercially launch the WiMAX service in Malaysia. Otherwise, there will be a penalty imposed on the operators if they fail to meet the deadline.
Zamani also hinted the Government might cancel the WiMAX license of operators if they failed to roll out the WiMAX service by the second deadline after paying the penalty. I sure hope it doesn’t happen otherwise we’re going to see you know who getting a license too. And, many of us don’t want THAT to happen.
The talk about the Malaysia WiMAX rollout is getting rampant. Tech geeks and bloggers seem to be aiming for the keywords; Malaysia and Wimax. As mentioned, all you need are a few good posts to increase your Google Adsense revenue and position yourself better in search engines. Let’s see if I’m able to position this blog with the phrase; Malaysia Wimax.
While at it, I’m thinking about the Malaysia WiMAX implementation and its possible effects towards our working culture and possibly, lifestyle. When Wimax finally rolls out in Malaysia (hopefully by this year), the first business which will get affected are cafes like Starbucks, Coffee Bean and other free wifi spots. Would they survive the rollout?
With the advancement of online (web) applications, starting an e-commerce website and selling products online has never been easier. The best part is it sounds easy and it IS easy. So what do you need to start an e-commerce business today? I’d say, around RM10,000 or USD3000 for the investment.
And I wasn’t kidding about the figures. If you’re asking, why are the figures so high? It’s because I’m talking about professionally designed, real search engine optimized, online advertising and marketing type e-commerce businesses. If you’re still saying; but you said it’s so easy to start selling online today, yes I did say it but easy doesn’t always equal to cheap. Let me give you a quick breakdown of where the investment would and should go if you wanted to start an e-commerce business.
If I had the money, I’d sue them for mental disturbance and health related issues. For one, I believe an Internet subscriber could probably get grey hair from stressing out over a lousy Internet connection daily. And, the connection has been a b*tch the past few days.
I sure hope when the 4 Malaysia Wimax license holders; Green Packet Bhd, REDtone International Bhd, YTL E-Solutions Bhd and Asiaspace Dotcom Sdn Bhd, release the new Internet wireless standard then TMNet will crumble. But I wonder how does Wimax really work?

MYNIC is the domain registry and domain registrar in Malaysia. They also are administrator for the .my top level domain name and second-level Malaysia domain names for organizations, businesses and individuals. Such as .com.my, .net.my, .org.my, .gov.my, .edu.my, .mil.my, and .name.my.
Currently, you can only register Malaysia domain names with MYNICs appointed resellers. And, not every company may apply to be a reseller (even if you are an MSC company). But I’m not here to rant about the MYNIC registration process. Instead, I’d like to discuss about their new website launched on June 25, 2008.
