All You Need Is A Few Good Posts

If there’s one thing the Apple iPhone blogging series taught me, it’s all you need is a few good posts to generate traffic and earn a small profit from Adsense. I’m not saying it is easy to earn money online but all you need is a few good blog posts to start earning some money.

In addition, a few shouldn’t be interpreted as 2-3 posts but 5-7 posts. A good handful of blog posts is equivalent to 10-20 posts of half-baked content you may have written in a rush. As all bloggers would know, content still remains king.

So how do you write or plan for the few good posts?

Well, first of all you must know what you want to write about. What is it that inspired you to put your fingers to the keyboard? What was it that someone said you felt strongly towards? In short, what was it that motivated you in the first place?

For example; whenever I think about why my Google Adsense is doing fine at the moment is really thanks to the Apple iPhone in Malaysia blog series I created on this blog. To be honest, at least 25% of my search engine generated traffic is now from the Apple iPhone in Malaysia.

Besides the drive of writing, you may also want to know a little more about targeting the right keywords or phrases. From my experience, Google now not only expects you to use accurate keywords but spoken phrases. Therefore, the next time you’re writing your blog and thinking of a title – think of a phrase you would say.

A phrase is a really very powerful method to position yourself in the search engine. For example; if a person in Malaysia wanted to buy an iPhone in Malaysia, they’d use the phrase “Where to buy Apple iPhone in Malaysia?“. Although I’ve an article; Buy the Apple iPhone in Malaysia, the phrase is accurately close.

Lastly, blogging has taught me to be very honest with my readers. Nobody likes a person who lies especially if it’s easy to find out. And on the Internet, it is easy to find out. Hence, never ever ever be dishonest to your readers.

The good guys might always finish last but we would continue living in abundance having the last laugh. After all, laughter is the best medicine. :)

p.s: I had to put this post on automatic blogging as I’m leaving to Penang for my brother’s wedding today – sister-in-law’s side. And I’m worried where I’m staying doesn’t have free WiFi (Wireless Internet). So, shoutout to all Penangites!
