Malaysia Wimax Implementation and Effects

The talk about the Malaysia WiMAX rollout is getting rampant. Tech geeks and bloggers seem to be aiming for the keywords; Malaysia and Wimax. As mentioned, all you need are a few good posts to increase your Google Adsense revenue and position yourself better in search engines. Let’s see if I’m able to position this blog with the phrase; Malaysia Wimax.

While at it, I’m thinking about the Malaysia WiMAX implementation and its possible effects towards our working culture and possibly, lifestyle. When Wimax finally rolls out in Malaysia (hopefully by this year), the first business which will get affected are cafes like Starbucks, Coffee Bean and other free wifi spots. Would they survive the rollout?

picture of lady on sofa Over a mamak session, I was discussing with a couple of friends about the recent troubled Internet connection I’ve been experiencing. As usual, similar complaints started coming out and all directed to only 1 provider. Needless to say, we all know who since they monopolize the market. LOL!

Despite our laughter, relating our own customer service cases and the useless results which spawned from it we started debating over what’s more important for an Internet provider in Malaysia. Was it the speed of the Internet connection packages? Was it the price with the fuel hike now and soon? Or, was it efficient and knowledgeable customer service support?

Here’s something I bet not a lot of people know about. Because if word got out, I betcha TMNet will crumble soon. One of my business network members was complaining about how his Internet connection was up and down. Worst part is when he sends an email the connection goes down.

Anyway, he related his connection problem to you know who and was left frustrated in the end – as usual. Later he found out from another friend, you has the right as the subscriber to demand a daily refund whenever the connection is down for more than 24 hours. Each day is supposedly around RM10. During this time of turmoil, RM10 is enough to fill a quarter pertrol in my MyVi.

Email marketing isn’t only about promoting or selling your products. I’m sure Internet marketers will always tell you one of their secrets is to build a mailing list and market your affiliate products or services to potential customers. Plus, you will have to persistently do this convert these potential customers.

Well, I believe the trend is slowly changing and the above trend is dying. As more users face advertisements daily, they’re tired of reading emails which are of no relevance and importance to them already. Here’s a quick example; I recently unsubscribed from a newsletter because it kept trying to sell me something over and over again. But no, it wasn’t the selling which drove me away. You tell me. Seriously, I’ve heard of it murmured all over the place now. However, I don’t really know what is social media marketing (SMM) in detail, how it works and what are the results from it. As far as I know, social media marketing is about utilizing social networks or online applications (and communities) for marketing. That made sense, right?

For example; using social media networks like Facebook, MySpace and etc to spread word of your marketing campaign on a product or launch. From the online application view, it could be using tools like Digg or StumbleUpon and etc. The whole gist of it is using online channels to do Internet marketing. Even creating a self-promotional video and publishing it on YouTube is part of social media marketing.

Do You Read Your Spam Emails?

spam luncheon meat Trust me. When I heard a friend of mine said he reads his spam (junk) emails, it was only half the shock I got from him. When he told he reads them, I just kept thinking which ‘cuckoo’ user reads their junk email. For me, once it’s in there I’m done with it. Normally, I won’t bother going into the junk folder unless necessary.

But here’s the killer when I was discussing this with my friend. He said junk emails is one of the wonders of technology. Gosh! When he told me that, I only had a blank expression on my face while in my mind repeated; WTF! What the f…! WHAT THE FCK!

Why Didn't Google Think of This?

google concept Google Inc has been paving the way since Google Search arrived and it just got better…and better. What’s even more spectacular is Google Mail (GMail). But, why didn’t Google think about this brilliant idea; Using Adsense Income to Supplement AdWords campaigns.

This is such a brilliantly simple idea but it’s not being done at the moment. Gosh! I even tried Google-ing if anyone else has thought of it but it seemed no one has popped the question. I’m very sure someone involved in Google’s world domination plans must have thought of it.

My Google Adsense is Like Investing in Unit Trust

stock exchange Investors say if you want to see your monetary returns faster, you go into a riskier investment. Though unit trust isn’t like trading in the stock market or foreign exchange (FOREX), I’ve noticed a commonality between my Google Adsense and my unit trust.

My fund manager once told me unit trust will see monetary returns after a set period. For example; my goal is to obtain a minimum RM10,000 return investment in 2-3 years time. So what has this got to do with my Google Adsense? Well, my returns has been climbing ever since I placed its advertisements into my blog.

money pile It’s my second last day in Penang and I’m really going to miss all the food here. Nonetheless, I’m sure any Penangite will tell me after living their whole life here the food will get boring. Plus, I don’t think I can live driving here.
