Bulletproof Web Design

I know it isn’t normal of me to review books but I guess I could get started with this. Now when Ariel needs to do some movie screening, I need to tour the complex for about an hour or two. So happens yesterday we were at Midvalley and I decided to spend my time in MPH.

Both books that I picked from the shelf were about websites but one written by a local author and the other by Dan Cederholm. He’s the author and owner of Simplebits.

The Daily Blog Read Meme

Allow me to first explain that a meme isn’t the same as ‘mei mei’, which in Chinese means little sister. A meme in blog talk is an idea or project that’s shared through other bloggers normally through recommendation. However, there is no harm in anyone picking it up and running it on their own.

I’m not sure where this meme started from but I’m having a go at it from Edrei’s blog, Footsteps in the Mirror. This meme is quite fun because there are lots of questions you’re given or you could self create as long it’s within the theme.

Lisa Turned On via 37Signals

It doesn’t take so many signals for a guy to turn on or persuade a lady. However, for Lisa McMillan she had fallen head over heels completely for the 37Signals.

If you’re still thinking that this is some tip to getting laid or getting a woman in your arms, sorry to drop your expectations entirely. Lisa is an established Canadian web designer and developer who also recently rebooted her website into CSS this year. And I dare say, she’s really intwined with her standards compliancy along with her CSS knowledge.

You just have to admire the list style applied. *drool*

PPS Is Down

The service is temporarily down until Aizuddin manages to clearout all the spam said to be attacking Project Petaling Street. And here I was wondering if Aizuddin was migrating the new design over or something.

Anyway, I just noticed that other than the PPS Announcements links now, there’s no other way in viewing it. A bit of a hassle for the time being.

More Than Simple Blogs II

This is the continuing discussion from More Than Simple Blogs that I posted earlier. The feedback gotten was almost as intense as the comments in Eyeris blog.

Commenters were pouring in their personal feelings how bloggers need not any gurus or probloggers to be their mentors. Well, as I said in my comment reply, my intention wasn’t to suggest every blogger to have a mentor but to have someone be your inspiration or role model. My apologies to those who might’ve misunderstood.

More Than Simple Blogs

There was a time I started questioning the existence and purpose of my blog and kept asking the question, What Becometh Thy Blog? Then after a month has passed ushering now into October, Eyeris has his own question to ask many and himself, Malaysian bloggers, where has the FUN gone?

His entry wonders where has all the random fun gone in bloggers. There ain’t not many posts now touching the ramblings, rants, humorous life of people. Instead, now people are blogging for the sake of becoming famous or trying to make it famous.

Search Engine Ranking Factors

Going about my daily surfing around the blogosphere, one of the must stops is always Darren’s Problogger blog. It’s one of the more essential blogs of learning how to blog effectively and gain revenue along with knowledge.

I might have missed this article back on September 30th and I’m glad I found it before it disappeared into the archives. As Darren mentioned in his post HERE, Steve Rubel recently posted an article he found regarding Search Engine Ranking Factors from SEOMoz.

LiewCF – Mac Prodigy

Since LiewCF has stopped pinging Project Petaling Street (PPS), I’ve only been visiting his blog come time to time. I’m not aware of his true reasons for doing so but I guess if it’s something kept personal then it shouldn’t be any of my business.

Some days back, I noticed a new blog pinging onto PPS so I decided to trail it and it led me to Mac-Switcher. Little that I know this blog actually belonged to LiewCF who recently purchased his RM3999, Apple iBook.

WebSighting #9

Good ol’ agent CSSBeauty recently delivered another astounding report. With the weekend only few hours away, we’re going to switch back into fun mode and enjoy this later sighting. Even its name just sounds fun.

Everyone, let’s give a big great hello to..*kuchi-kuchi-koo*..oops, let me rephrase that. Let us all applaud these Swiss designers from Designchuchi.

I actually just found out that .ch Top Level Domains (TLDs) are from Switzerland. Anyway, let’s have some fun.

Path of The Problogger – Design

I’d just like to be clear right here first, there is NO ‘perfect’ design for any website or weblog. If there was such a thing, many clients wouldn’t actually need to revamp their websites anymore.

With that cleared out from the atmosphere allow me to express gratitude to whoever that have been reading my blog. I understand there are the read and too shy to comment readers, the ones who use feeders, and the highly appreciated visitors who’ve dropped in and commented on my articles. I thank you for visiting me from time to time.

I’d also like to explain that designs are a subjective matter, therefore what I say here might be based on my own personal opinions. But I still hope a thing or two might be learnt later.
