Allow me to first explain that a meme isn’t the same as ‘mei mei’, which in Chinese means little sister. A meme in blog talk is an idea or project that’s shared through other bloggers normally through recommendation. However, there is no harm in anyone picking it up and running it on their own.
I’m not sure where this meme started from but I’m having a go at it from Edrei’s blog, Footsteps in the Mirror. This meme is quite fun because there are lots of questions you’re given or you could self create as long it’s within the theme.
Edrei answered a lot of questions regarding his daily blog reads. Some with a serious note and some, well, you tell me.
Whose blog do you wish to drool all over on?
I have not at any point…engaged in sexual conduct with any blog on my daily read.
This is the fun you get when you’re doing a meme and the smiles you could bring to many if answered correctly. Though Edrei has a list of approximately 35 questions, I’m only probably going to list down half or a quarter of it. The rest of the daily blog read related questions I’ll allow you to fire away in the comments.
When and why did you start your daily reads list?
Let’s see..I started having a bookmark folder with Blogs since last year. Reason is because these bloggers are interesting and though I might not have met them, I consider them as my friends already.
Do you truly visit your daily reads DAILY?
As much as I’d not want to hurt anyone’s feelings, but nope. There are roughly 30-50+ blogs in my folder and I don’t read all of them daily. The ones that I do is normally for knowlege gain.
Why do you add these people as your daily reads?
They’re my friends and probably because they’ve got something interesting that I like about them.
Have you deleted people from your daily reads, if so why?
It’s almost the same like Edrei. There’s no use bookmarking blogs that rarely get updated but I’ve rarely been deleting any. Maybe I’ll just have to start categoring the Blogs folder into frequency of updates.
Do you comment on your daily reads DAILY?
Also like Edrei. Hell, no! Most bloggers prefer constructive comments. Some bloggers find refuge in their blogs because it is an empty space for them. So some bloggers prefer people not commenting on certain entries.
Do you link people on your daily reads only because they linked you?
I used to have a blogroll but in honesty, I was growing out of it. I might bring it back and put it into its own Links section or something later. There you’ll be able to find a library of blogs that I’ve visited and linked.
Does daily reads have special meaning to you?
Other than friends, it will have to be for knowledge gain.
Are your daily reads mostly female or male?
Urm..if bloggers stayed annonymous, I’ll never be able to tell.
Are you likely to read LONG blog entries from your daily reads?
Depending on the topic, I’ll sometimes scan through rather quickly and stop only when my eyes pick certain keywords that interest me at first by the post title.
Do you expect your daily reads to read your blog everyday in return?
To me, It’s the same as asking do you expect your daily reads to link back to you. Of course it is much appreciated to know that those who you read, read yours in return. But in my case, I’m willing to accept that most blogs I read are far senior or knowledgeable than myself.
Who on your daily reads has the coolest layouts?
None. There is no such thing as ‘perfect’ even for myself.
Who is most likely to give you news about the world or internet?
This is a tough one. I’ve got blogs like Problogger, Entrepreneur’s Journey, Adverblog, Almost Cool, Sitepoint..and etc.
Whose blog do you wish to drool all over on?
I think that can not be answered because there are too many layouts and designs online that are worth drooling over..and hopefully, one day I’ll be drooling over mine as well.
As for blogs that are the sweetest, funniest, out-going and other descriptive questions answered by Edrei I will not touch on. Every female or male bloggers should believe that they are the sweetest or funniest person around.
However, bloggers also need to understand that you’re portraying your personal character through whom you choose to blog. So if there are other questions, fire them away.
Of course it’s true. I have never enganged in sexual conduct with any of my blogs so obviously I don’t drool over them. :)
Wait…is it “serious not” or “serious note”?
