Simple Hiatus till Monday

I’ll be on hiatus up at Genting this weekend. It’s time to get away from the hustle bustle along with the constraints of my monitor. So I’ll catch up with everyone later when I’m back. Articles still might be posted by Hawk or KKHost but who knows. ;) Cheers everyone and have a good weekend.

The Real Website Process

I was doing some research and I stumbled across an unfamiliar website; Get a New Browser (GANB). It’s got some pretty interesting entries to share and one of them I’d like to share with you here. It dictates the normal general process of a website project from the first meeting all the way to the … Read more

What's Your Job Title Worth?

Almost a year ago while in Melbourne I questioned my ability to be called a Web Designer, it was the time of depression being trapped in a room with only assignments to do. Traveling back to the present, such a question surfaced again but from the posting of Andrew Neitlich over at Sitepoint.

I highly respect Andrew as a savvy business marketing consultant and sharing his knowledge with a lot of readers at Sitepoint. But when it came down to his post it confused me.

Blog Review: Midnite Lily

A very good morning to the visitors to the blog, I got up rather early this morning so pardon any odd mistakes you might find in the review if any. Yes, that’s an excuse but it’s a good excuse because rather than telling you I’m too tired, I’m telling you honestly why I’m tired. So let’s get down to Miss Lily (not real name – I think) over here.

Lily who’s a writer in person (I don’t think I need to comment on her content :P) has a blog called Midnite Lily that brings back fond memories of when I was using Movable Type. Though her slogan, “delivering over-anal thoughts after midnite” sounds horny or kinky I’m pretty sure she’s enough a believer in her religion to remain holy. Sorry, I just had to say that. *giggles*

Blog Review: What's This Then?

The recent blog review I did for Dustyhawk caught the attention of Pennywise who own’s the blog What’s This Then? and he requested in the comments that I reviewed his blog too. So before beginning, allow me to explain first that what I might discuss upon be personal preference based and if you can’t take the feedback then you shouldn’t have asked for a review in the first place.

Alright, so the first thing we’re going to do is categorize the type or genre of this blog. It’s title says it’s a blog about Humour, Technology and News and sure enough all the posts or topics have been covering the generalisation of all these contents.

Blog Review: Dustyhawk

Dustyhawk aka Serge aka Leo aka multi personality blogger emailed to request a review and suggestions for his blog. I’ve only met Dustyhawk once in person I think and that was during the last blogger meeting at Midvalley on one fine day.

Anyway, taking a look at Dustyhawk’s blog, you’re greeted firstly by the character found in the web comic Megatokyo though forgot the name of the hamster. Dustyhawk’s blog is like your average personal journal type blog. He blogs anything and everything that comes to his mind.

Seth Godin Speaks Simple Landing Pages

Being without a doubt the most important page to any website of a purpose, the landing page is the first page you visit on your mission. If you were visiting Google’s search engine, their landing page is the huge logo and field for you to type that search.

Seth Godin who’s a reknown speaker and author of many books shared his mind about landing pages today. He mentions about the actions normally called in a landing page today. I found some really surprising opinions from him about landing pages but I believe he’s right to see them as the ideal landing pages.

Damian and Laura Website Review

There were previously two wedding couples websites that have been reviewed. The first that I’ve seen was one that I discovered while I was in Australia. That was Nate and Jessica’s one during Website Mention Time. It was a really simple website with simple info you could find out about them.

The second wedding website I came across was Jason and Susan’s website that I reviewed just this month. Their website was a little more complex in style and design. The navigation still remained simple as possible with additions of a gift registry.

Fake Paypal Email Scene

According to investigations done, I’ve found that the email was sent from a company in the USA. It’s too quick to jump to conclusions since black hat hackers could easily hijack an email server to use for spamming. But some investigation of the email has given away clear signs of it’s non-existent authenticity.

This email was one of those sent out as a disguise for a Paypal member to verify their account and when they’ve arrived at the spoof website, they’ll be asked to enter their personal details. Then after that it’ll be doomsday if you aren’t careful.

Web Hosting: Cheap Isn't Good

Hi everyone,

I guess this will be my very first blog that is related to Web Hosting, which I hope will be useful as a guide to readers who are new to web hosting and would like to shop for their first paid web hosting service.

When it comes to shopping for your paid web hosting service, I’m sure you will be confused by glancing through advertisements in newspapers, online forums, search engines…etc as you will realise that there are simply too many companies and hosting packages to choose from; Which company is the best? Which hosting package is suitable for me?

Most of the time, we will automatically filter the choices available according to their prices. We tend to filter out companies who offer the most expensive packages and pick the cheapest (hopefully free if possible) provider and subscribe to their services. This is definitely the first step taken by any wise consumers and companies to reduce their expenditures.
