Web Standards Solution

Earlier this month, I reviewed the book by Dan Cederholm called Bulletproof Web Design. In his book, there were lots of coloured pages and well-written guided CSS codes for you to pick it up. At that time I also mentioned that the next book I’ll try to review is his other book, Web Standards Solution.

But here’s an extra treat for everyone, I found another interesting book at MPH Mdvalley that is quite good though very thick and I didn’t get to finish it.

WebSighting #10

The X edition of our running WebSighting series is proudly brought you by agent, CSSImport. This time we’re going to review a business consultant company’s website, Davis Business Consultants.

A quick introduction of owner, Paul Davis, is that he’s been working for over 20 years and a fellow member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. It looks like here’s an accountant who’s breaking the curse of boring accountants.

Bulletproof Web Design

I know it isn’t normal of me to review books but I guess I could get started with this. Now when Ariel needs to do some movie screening, I need to tour the complex for about an hour or two. So happens yesterday we were at Midvalley and I decided to spend my time in MPH.

Both books that I picked from the shelf were about websites but one written by a local author and the other by Dan Cederholm. He’s the author and owner of Simplebits.

Good ol’ agent CSSBeauty recently delivered another astounding report. With the weekend only few hours away, we’re going to switch back into fun mode and enjoy this later sighting. Even its name just sounds fun.

Everyone, let’s give a big great hello to..*kuchi-kuchi-koo*..oops, let me rephrase that. Let us all applaud these Swiss designers from Designchuchi.

It’s really been awhile since I had any interesting report from all my agents around. The last issue was WebSighting #7 dating back to August. I’ve been really busy and nothing out of the ordinary actually appeared before me on my screen.

However, the draught is about to meet some refreshing Bali rain. This latest review will blow away especially the Malaysian Tourism Board.

Project Petaling Street In Your Face

As usual, out of the blue something is thrown right in your face without intention of harm. However, though as much I’d like to be happy for PPS, Aizuddin, and others who’ve worked hard in making it better..I am honestly not very happy.

There isn’t any harm throwing a huge surprise to the audience. But when it concerns the user interface which in return will reflect heavily on the usability of a website, I can’t rest at ease to see something I looked highly upon has somehow lost its touch.

Just recently I got an email from agent DesignersDepot and the retrieved results this time around was astounding. Not only are there 2 websites featured this time round, these websites are in Flash.

Yes, the dreaded interactive motion tool that is now plagued as one of the worst media to use online. Reason? Just because its been abused by many designers who only utilize its minor potential, that is animation.

Alas, there are modern designers around who still remember how to utilize this tool to great lengths. Not only do these websites showcase excellent animation, their innovativity with the inclusion of video is just wonderful.

Agent CSSBeauty left a report in my inbox since I was MIA for quite awhile. There were quite a few potential websites on the list but I decided to just go with one. What’s the reason for it? Well, I’m not sure if it’s locally done but the brand just made me want to mention it. The brand is called; Idaman Suri.

The products being sold are instant recipes to be used in cooking. I used these lots of time but of a different brand when I was in Melbourne. It’s really that all you need is the meat, some extra stuff of your own and the base recipe. Thankfully lunch is coming up cause I’m getting hungry imagining chicken curry or something.

Zzap! eSportAsia 2005

I gave my agents a break so I needed other means of finding something to talk about for today. As I was trying to figure out the template structure of ZenCart, one of my pals messaged me on MSN. He was mentioning that my ol coconut head is up to something.

In promoting LUCTs game design course, the university is hosting Malaysia’s premier international egames festival. The event begins on 15th August till the 21st.
