Website Review: Heartbeat Online Shop for Personalized Gifts

Heartbeat logoHeartbeat is a Malaysia online shop for personalized gifts aimed at customers who want a present more than ordinary. This is a requested website review by one of the Heartbeat founders; Vincent. When he got in touch with me, he already informed me there were other bloggers who’ve written about Heartbeat. However, I personally found the write-ups as not much a review but like a featured post.

Therefore, I pre-informed Vincent if he wants me to review his website it will be a review and not a write-up. It will be criticized for its strengths and weaknesses like the Tumpang website review. And Vincent was actually surprised when I told him because he thought the other write-ups were reviews. Well, Vincent…this is what I believe is a website review for Heartbeat.

Apple iPhone 3G Version May Hit Japan First

apple iphone japanI just learned from CNN Money, two of the biggest Japan telecommunication providers are in talks with Apple to reap the market benefits of the Apple iPhone. The two telcos are none other than NTT DoCoMo and the third biggest provider in Japan; Softbank Mobile.

In terms of business figures, the famous NTT DoCoMo company has 53 million customers while Softbank only has a smaller 17 million customers. It looks to be a David and Goliath war against the two Japan telecommunication providers.

8 Random Facts about Danny Foo

danny fooWhile randomly doing research on Technorati, I noticed some blogger tagged me to do a meme; 8 random facts about myself. And funnily, the definition I found on Wikipedia for a memetag is different to me. I always thought a meme is something random to be done as requested by another blogger but it could even be used to track statistics as well.

A memetag (or meme tag) is a blog tag that is included in all posts that reference a meme. When a meme is started on a blog – for example, ‘your top five favourite movies’ — the meme tag is included at the foot of the text of each post that responds to the meme invitation.

By including a memetag, bloggers are recognising the initial creator of the meme and allowing them to track how their meme has spread across the blogosphere through the use of social media tools such as Technorati. Source: Wikipedia

31 Question Series for The Apple iPhone in Malaysia – Part 2

apple iphone faqYesterday, I shared the first 15 questions Jason pointed out to me. Those were only the simpler question hence the brief answers. And I want to side track a little that I recently even had to converse with a Sabah iPhone enquiry in Bahasa Malaysia. That was very good practice. Anyhow, today I’m listing the second part of the 31 question series.

Let’s start of with Question #16:
16. When was the version 1.1.2 released? I went to Low Yat Plaza yesterday and I heard that the next update is coming in another 1-2 weeks.
Version 1.1.2 was released sometime in November. As for 1.1.3, it’s all rumours so I can’t say for certain in 1-2 weeks 1.1.3 is released.

31 Question Series for The Apple iPhone in Malaysia

apple iphone faqThey say admitting your weaknesses opens up opportunity to your competitors. But I’d rather be honest and continue living my life without regrets than to sell my soul or trick these people who’re going to splurge on an Apple iPhone in Malaysia. Which is why I always inform all iPhone enquirers through my contact form, I’m only an average type of iPhone user.

And recently, my general iPhone knowledge was put to the test by a recent commenter; Jason. He wanted assurance the Apple iPhone indeed is stable in Malaysia and most importantly, usable. So he came up with 31 questions for me to address but I’m breaking this into 15 question (2 part) series because during the post preview, I found it too long.

Video Recording Coming to Apple iPhone in Malaysia

iphone video recordingIt is coming! Video recording application for the Apple iPhone is finally coming! Woohoo! The video recording application for the iPhone is by Monster and friends. They have been working on it awhile and recently released the application for iPhone users to test. Do note however this is not the final application therefore stability is still being questioned.

On the other hand, if you’d like to take advantage of the Apple iPhone’s built-in clear and sharp 2 megapixel camera then you would want this application bad. I knew ever since I got my Apple iPhone from MAXIMiPhone and took some photos, the video recording was a must have. But Apple didn’t include it. Duoh!

In The Christmas Spirit of Giving Discounts

space indaversAs the year of 2007 flies by, more and more yellow banners with the large imprinted word; YES, are hung up on light poles. The Year End Sale has started and it’s in fact the spirit of giving…discounts, that is.

The shopping malls have built their trees, made their sweaty Santas parade and asked their cute female promoters to dawn their red hats. There’s nothing like the spirit of giving when it comes to Christmas.

Space Invaders T-shirt for Sale

space invadersDo you remember playing the 2D game; Space Invaders? It was a hell of an addictive game although it was simple. As a regular computer gamer, I decided to pay tribute to it by coming out with a t-shirt.

The t-shirt is a mixed language of the old and new. The old being lead by the Space Invaders and the new as it spells the word; leet. In Leetspeak (as gamers call it), 1337 is referenced as leet or in English; elite. It’s a term we deem great gamers for their level of gaming skill or performance.

Nuffnang Needs to Reword Their Emails

pen and letterI recently received an official email from Vivian, who’s in Nuffnang’s blogger relations department. It was a real surprise receiving an email from Nuffnang so I thought it could be some extraordinary thing which was gonna be offered.

However, little did I know the contents of the email made me very frustrated and instantly disappointed with Vivian. The harsh reply and screenshot of my blog I had sent back to her was due to an assumption and misunderstanding when I read the email once.

The Google Robot or Googlebot Needs New Batteries

GooglebotGoogle has yet to come out with its own robot but it’s Googlebot is constantly scouring the Internet for relevant content in webpages. The Googlebot is a search bot used by Google. It collects documents from the web to build a searchable index for the Google search engine.

When you sit with a group of search engine optimizers, they’ll be talking about how they try to control the Googlebot to help websites be on top of the Google rankings. But I personally think Google is going to have to change the robot’s batteries. In other words, to tweak it a little bit more rather than to just find relevant keywords.
