Is The Boss or The Customers Right?

Thinking that the boss makes 10 of their customers isn’t rational. Accepting the fact that the boss is right because he’s the client, the one paying you to do your work or worst, one of the customers..you’re just plain selfish.

Too many small-medium website design firms today aren’t doing work for the clients customers but for the client or the boss themselves. Whatever the boss wants they give and whatever the boss thinks is right, they nod their heads like agreeing robots. What a bunch of employees.

Do Blogs Need Timestamps?

The timestamps are the date and time normally used in blogs. From Problogger.net, I hopped over to Rachel’s cre8d design blog and she brought up the discussion of; My blog timestamps theory: removing the clutter.

The discussion is still very minimal at this point of time but it could develop to be a very interesting one in the research of user behaviour towards the abscence of timestamps normally found on blogs.

A Sony Ericsson Photoblog?

I just got back from admiring Veerle’s newly released 2.0 website and it’s superb so you’ve just got to visit Veerle’s blog. While I was there I discovered one of the more interesting links to proceed on my morning surfing routine and it’s one of the ideas I actually had.

I was thinking if I finally had a better than average quality camera phone then I’d start a new blog with loads of pictures and probably video. But then the link I found over at Veerle’s blog showed someone beating me to the idea. And what’s more disappointing is that this person has got real photography skills.

When to Use Flash?

Do you feel weird asking yourself this question? Of course you would if you’ve met many clients demanding to have something done in Flash and it becomes worst when they’d like their whole website to be done in Flash.

Ironic as it might seem thinking I shouldn’t be complaining since Flash work does cost more than normal static HTML work, I think too many have abused Flash in many devilish and unfulfilling ways. Especially when the client doesn’t really need it and realize it.

HITZ FM Website Exclusive Review

My all-time listening radio station has gotta be Hitz FM ever since it launched a long time ago. I remember always trying to wake up early and listening to the comedy of Lil Kev and Fly Guy. During that time it was the golden years for Hitz FM Morning Crew and I still miss it. Maybe the duo could start an online podcast thing for the people who remember them.

Anyway, this exclusive review is written to assist in a media student’s research or survey before taking on the task of trying to redesign the Hitz FM website. Melisa Lim of uNCUT…uNPLUGGED…uNCENSORED is doing a Hitz FM Web Survey.

So let’s get started. *knuckles cracking*

Gamers Website Exclusive Review

We’ve got a local game retail shop making some news in the newspapers and magazines since last year. All of which belong to Software Boutique that runs the online website, Gamers.com.my Though the original game scene isn’t very supported by many here since the comparison of value you get between the original and pirated version doesn’t show significant value.

Unless of course you compare to games like World of Warcraft – though there have been cases of piracy for that as well. Anyway, the piracy is the ‘yang’ and it’s bound to be around in order for balance of the gaming industry in some way. Before I float off further into some psychological frenzy, here’s an exclusive review of the Gamers.com.my website.

Adsense Optimization from Mike Gutner

In my email today of the Adsense newsletter edition, they had a short interview with their optimization specialist (sounds cool, no?) Mike Gutner. So what does Mike do?

I work on AdSense optimization. We run tests to identify the best ways in which AdSense publishers can make the most of their Google ads.

No wonder everyone feels like working for Google. Not only do you have cool titles but you’ve got cool stuff to do in the office. I wonder if there’s anyone wearing fluffy slippers around the office. But let’s talk about Mike’s explaination of some ad placements.

Business Clients Gone Insane

You’re in a meeting and you’re discussing the changes needed made to the current project. Your breathing becomes heavy and your heart is pounding furiously like it just wants to pop out and hit your client with its arteries. This building pressure between yourself and the clients always happen when some things are not under control.
