All Round Cheap Website

This discussion started from the previous Some Malaysians are Shameless but it wasn’t complete since I didn’t have the website URL of the finished project. But thanks to Tiger, he managed to dig back up the website from his history folder.

The discussion I wanted done here earlier was to briefly talk about the fair or unfair pricing for the website; www.property98.com

This itself already is free publicity for the owner but no matter, because what we’re going to discuss is the pricing of this website work.

Some Malaysians are Shameless

As you know, I’m an avid member of Low Yat forums and I’ve been bringing up case studies from there a couple of times. However, today’s case was affected due to the shameless editing done by a Malaysian. But no matter, though he might not allow me to discuss his agenda openly I could still always describe it in other manners.

I’ve answered some of the classifieds in the Job Enlistment forum before when it came to website building but I’ve not been ever so insulted as a person who designs websites to improve the status of the local user experience, accessibility and others.

Fake eBay Email Loose

The daily email check routine found me a suspicious mail suppsoedly coming from eBay. It’s title was Question from eBay member but the email address used was not authentic; messages[a]signin-ebay.com.

Due to my normal curiosity of finding out other people’s website via their email address, the signin-ebay.com led me to an empty lot. That means someone registered the domain just to try and phish or trick anyone to giving their personal details later. I’ve got a screenshot of the email and something only a trained eye might notice.

Woot Website Review

I’m not sure if this website is the same one I’ve seen 1-2 years back so if you do know of any other that uses the same business model, do update us on it. Getting down to a woot! review now, it’s a simple and straight to the point website offering a single item for sale everyday and once the day is up, the product will be taken down.

Yeah, I know it sounds something familiar that I too have heard before either in the past Computimes (NST: Tech&U now) or The Star: InTech. woot! has definetely come a long way since I last visited them. The last time I saw it, it was selling a G-Shock type watch and at the moment of viewing, it was selling off a projector.

The website has very strong points for its business model but I also noticed a weak spot on their website. So let’s find out what they are.

A Decade of Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC)

Since the start of the MSC in 1996, it was all about the hype of raising the bar in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) of things. It was a plan and target for all companies to be part of MSC or Multimedia Development Corporation (MDC). The battle still continues to eliminate piracy, improve technology, increase numbers of Internet penetration and others.

A decade has passed and they’ve decided to reband and revitalise the whole MSC and MDC scene. Maybe they think since it’s been 10 years and we’re only a quarter in, we could try sarting fresh and make things cooler. They’ve changed the MDC to M-DeC which just puzzles me because I thought MDC was always a great name for it.

Select a Typeface Based on Creativity

Stumbled across TypeNavigator by accident while looking for appropriate typefaces to be used. It’s a very interesting tool and it has the interactivity like a color blender except we’re dealing with elements of more personality.

When choosing a typeface for a logo or copy, it’s important that the logo is able to project the communicative message of the brand or the consistency with the brand. This is the experience TypeNavigator gives you when selecting a typeface.

Your Wedding Gift Registry

Not long ago, I reviewed the portfolio website and wedding website of Jason Gurley. At the end of the entry, I said that I’d like to discuss a new opportunity many might not have noticed happening around the Internet.

Though the opportunist might not agree so much about the idea implemented here because it’ll question ‘asian culture’ but I think other Malaysians today are becoming more modern and tech-savvy on their own.

After all, wouldn’t an online method be great to lessen the worries of a couples already stressing woes about choosing wedding locations, restaurants, photographers, guests and etc?

Wedding Website of Susan and Jason

Back in 2005 during Website Mention Time, I spoke of the lovely couple; Nate and Jessica’s wedding website. It was a simple website with soft wedding colours and it had all the basic things their friends or family far away would love to learn about them.

Now come this year, I’ve found a new wedding website belonging to Susan and Jason who are tying the knot on the wonderful date 11th November 2006. A hearty congratulations to both individuals who’re becoming a single item.
