I’m not a perfect designer who’s always got the right colors for the right job.
So what I rely on the rest of the time are references whether they’re photos, advertisements, websites, postcards and other different types of inspirational material. There are a bunch of color scheme generators online like:
- Color Scheme Generator 2
- Color Blender
- Color Match Redux
- EasyRGB Color Matching
- Color Schemer Online
Out of the ones listed, I prefer Color Blender, Color Match Redux and Color Schemer Online. However, if I were to narrow the choices down and bet my bottom dollar of which I’d prefer most in using it would have to be the stand-alone program by Color Schemer.
These are the same folks that brought you the online version and I suppose it’s because their freely available competitors are quite a number. But the thing I like about Color Schemer is their studio software that allows you to do not only color matching but color testing for the color blind.
You can find out about the new and full features of their Color Schemer Studio at their website.
The only thing that’s restricting me from purchasing it at the moment is the hefty USD 49.99 (RM184) to purchase a license and copy of the software. I suppose the price might be strategic for its American or European market but definetely not something every Asian company could afford.
Especially when you’re comparing to secondary choices like Color Blender.
What do you guys think?
danny… could you help me out.. i’ve found a lot of color schemer gen.. but the problem is that don’t know which is which..
well, try comparing them to either Color Blender or Color Schemer Online. I personally like these two.
Oh yeah, you might want to get the Color Pix from the Color Schemer website. It’s a God saving tool when it comes to picking colors from places. ;)
