Today is Not Only a Holiday

While I was at Jayce’s website yesterday, I watched a video which made me realize Malaysia’s independence day is but a small celebration in our tiny world. When I read Kenny Sia’s humorous Merdeka angle, I realized all our races have our habitual flaws. Today, when I was on Facebook and on the road, I … Read more

Setup a Cheap Low Cost Online ECommerce Store

Previously, I had written how to startup an e-commerce business in Malaysia. The only challenge was the investment sum of around RM10,000 to set it up properly. And as expected, someone came by saying they’d be able to do it much cheaper followed by my reply; I know someone who can even do it cheaper – students.

How else can you setup a cheap low cost online e-commerce store? Well, you could do-it-yoursef (DIY) if you’ve interest or background in websites. Or, there’s always your children or relatives you think they can do the job because they’re studying the subject. Besides getting an inexperienced or very cheap e-commerce solution have you ever wondered why can they offer their e-commerce solution at a much cheaper price?

iPhone Upgrade From Firmware 1.1.4 to 2.0.1 Success

Despite owning an iPhone in Malaysia for almost a year, upgrading my iPhone firmware still gives me the chiils to the bone. I don’t know why but it might be because I don’t want to damage this delicate and fragile iPhone. And, I do remember sharing how to Unlock the Apple iPhone 1.1.1 in Malaysia last year.

The process to unlock and jailbreak an iPhone in Malaysia or elsewhere is almost worry free now. Unless you share my worries too, not wanting to brick (break) your own iPhone. But yes, I took the leap earlier yesterday evening to upgrade, jailbreak and unlock my iPhone from firmware 1.1.4 to 2.0.1. Skipped over 2.0 right away – no biggie. ;)

Singtel Brings iPhone 3G to Singapore

SDK RoadmapIt’s finally here, people. And boy, do I have some great news to share. Just to underline the topic of the day, the iPhone 3G has officially landed on our neighbouring shores and makes it debut today, August the 22nd. Those of us who’ve been holding out on the iPhone 3G hit since July 11th, get your passports and vehicles fueled up, because this is gonna be one awesome trip you don’t wanna miss ;) As of now, reports are already gushing in from the frontlines of Apple Stores all over the island next door, and from the pictures taken I believe this has marked Apple’s biggest event around these places in the last…. I don’t know, decade? One word, the queues. And of course, my fellow Malaysians, there’s another reason for us to join in the festivities.

One of The Perks of Being a Blogger

One of the perks I love about being a blogger; special invites. Recently was invited to the P1 Malaysia Wimax official launch held in the Grand Ballroom at Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur. One word to describe its presentation; spectacular.

But before I go into details (and photos) about the launch, I’d like to make a quick shoutout; Wimax is now commercially available in Malaysia. Following behind P1, YTL e-solutions should be launching in West Malaysia today followed closely by Redtone (also in West Malaysia) and Asiaspace. So let’s talk monsters, Hannah Tan, Michael Lai and Datuk Shahziman Abu Mansor.

The Time Spent Developing a Website

Don’t take it to heart but yeah, it pretty much summarizes certain parts of developing a website. Though most of the world still uses Internet Explorer, Malaysia website designers and developers strike very hard to make it compatible for these non-modern browser users. P.S: Developing in CSS now doesn’t take as long compared to creating … Read more

The Wimax Malaysia Rollout Race Begins

A Malaysian’s characteristic is procrastination. I, myself, admit as being a victim of procrastination too. Being in a procrastinating culture, we like the thrill and adrenaline of completing or delivering goals last minute. Same goes to the Malaysia Wimax rollout now as the authorized license holders are racing to meet the end of August deadline.

At first, there were 4 authorized Malaysia Wimax license holders; Green Packet Bhd, REDtone International Bhd, YTL E-Solutions Bhd and Asiaspace Dotcom Sdn Bhd. Now, we’ve only heard a lot of Packet One (P1) followed by YTL E-Solutions then REDtone. Can the Wimax license holders other than P1 meet the deadline? Can P1 easily scale-up not only to serve a few hundred customers but a few million?

One of Simpleet’s clients; Jack Studios, has a great tagline; pictures speak a thousand words, with mine it speaks a million more. Therefore, I’m going to follow his advice and let the photos speak for themselves. I’ll round it up with a summary at the end. Let’s begin with a teaser.

There are 35 pictures in total. I’m breaking this photo log into 2 parts! :)
