Malaysia Map Directory Website

I just stumbled across the Map.com.my website while searching for a detailed map of Cherating. Needed a map so that I don’t goof up a client’s directions later. It’s a good sign because I actually found this website via Google.

As you know, websites I normally review are either great or have a lot of problems with it. :P

Well, I’m giving this one a chance for today.

I’m not sure where I’ve been since I’ve never heard of this website at all. I’ve heard of RM1 per transaction to get a map sent to your handphone but nothing like this website.

It’s a simple Malaysia map directory. You pick a state that you want to search and you just select which area you’d like to search in. I don’t think the maps in the website cover every single area in Malaysia since the maps are actually contributor based.

Yeah, you can submit a map to be used for a certain area. And the better part of this service, is that the map have been clearly illustrated out for you. :)

There isn’t much about the owner so I can’t really congratulate them personally. But I really like the project and I hope this project will grow and become one of the better directories around.

It’s design and layout is clean, simple, easily understandable. Usage of colors feels very conservative and I don’t have a bone to pick here because this just works for this website.

Attention should be paid more on the maps and not the whole website.

Kudos to the team or person behind Map.com.my

  1. This is the LOUSIEST MAP of Ipoh I have ever seen.
the Ipoh Specialist Centre is located at Jalan Tambun and NOT in Sungai Pari as shown.

  2. Well, that’s the thing with contributor based. If no one contributes or help them out, the project is very quiet and never risen from beneath the countless results of searching for Malaysia map. :)
