In the beginning of this month, Malaysia’s Advertlets online advertising company got themselves in a small mess. Their domain name (Advertlets.com) expired and wasn’t renewed causing massive chaos and retribution in the Malaysia blogosphere. As they struggled to recover, Nuffnang Malaysia rolled out an exclusive advertising program; Nuffnang Glitterati.
In short, Nuffnang publishers are given the opportunity to earn more and reap better benefits by joining this program. However, you may only qualify for the program if you publish only Nuffnang advertisements on your blog. When I read this, I pondered if this program really was about exclusivity or monopoly…or something else.
As a Nuffnang Glitterati, you get really good stuff like:
- Payment Rates for both Cost Per Unique Visitor and Cost-Per-Click – more money
- Payment Terms – faster money
- Advertorial Opportunities – even more money
- Community Events Reservation – instant RSVP
- Contest Spots – higher winning chances
- Innit – become more famous
For all of the above, you sacrifice other advertisement networks. No Google Adsense, no GrabMyAds, no Advertlets and etc. By doing this, you’ll sign a pact with Nuffnang Malaysia to provide your fullest support to them.
I only earn a moderately healthy income from Google Adsense. Albeit earning my first RM100 quicker with Nuffnang Malaysia, I’ve not been on long enough to justify if Nuffnang works better for me in comparison to Google Adsense. And I never mentioned Advertlets because I only have a mere RM15 in my account now.
But the Nuffnang Glitterati Exclusivity Program made me ask myself; why should I ‘sell’ my blog to Nuffnang Malaysia if I’ve not yet met my targeted income. My expectations of earning through advertising is neither high nor low. If I’m able to generate a consistent RM50 per month from Nuffnang Malaysia, I’d be happy to join their Nuffnang Glitterati Exclusive Program.
Simple reason is because Google Adsense at the moment is favoring my blog when it comes to the Apple iPhone in Malaysia. Therefore, if Nuffnang delivers a better monthly consistent cashflow for me (RM50-RM100) I’d be set on their Nuffnang Glitterati Exclusivity Program.
Before ending, I’d like to add a disclaimer this post has no intention of forcing or putting Nuffnang Malaysia in a difficult position to have to achieve my expectations. I’m only writing this because it was a lingering thought and a possibility Advertlets may use this position to their advantage.
Have you joined the Nuffnang Glitterati; Nuffnang Exclusive Program?

In fact, I believe that in order to apply, you only need to be using the only Malaysian ad network. In other words, if you do not use Advertlets, you automatically qualify for the bonuses…
In our opinion, it’s a smart move at a well posed opportunity…
Good business sense all round on Tim’s part… :-)
I agree. From the business stand point, this is the best way to capitalize on the market. Not to mention its easy to implement and fast to roll out.
Then again, like I said…if Nuffnang could offer me a minimum RM50 per month then I’d be happy to be a Glitterati. Greedy, not really…rationally thinking, yes. :P
Just a note, Adsense is allowed. You just need to remove any ads from any other ad network that originates from South East Asia. So…

I see. Must have missed that line somehow. Hmm, maybe I’ll give this Glitterati thing a try then. Since I’m now approximately RM100 richer thanks to Nuffnang. :)
Thanks for dropping by. I work with a web design company too http://www.netallianz.com
Urm, okies. Thank you for informing me on that as I ponder whether or not to edit the comment as it sounds a little bit like advertising. But I’ll leave other commenters to judge that.
Yes.. If using glitteri income will more than show others ads but sometimes I think don’t put egg just on one basket is more reliable…

I’m soon going to test out that methodology. Like how bloggers can make enough to sustain themselves, you can’t survive on one blog alone here. However, with greater money comes greater responsibility. :)
