This is utter rubbish! Their service disruption has been occuring if not often, on a timely basis. This is proving the fact either they are doing a very lousy job or someone somewhere isn’t supplying the quality products in the first place. Either way, let me share with you the interruption schedule so far.
January 29, 2009
Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) would like to inform its customers at Taman Bersatu, Arau, Kedah that its Streamyx service at the area is currently experiencing a disruption of service due to a cable breakdown caused by third party contractors. Hence, residents at the affected area will not be able to utilize their telephony or Internet services.

Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) wishes to announce that there is a disruption of its Internet services since 18 February 2009 due to circuit fault on the Asia Pacific Cable Network 2 (APCN2) between Kuantan – Katong in Singapore and Shantou – Tanshui in Taiwan linking Malaysia to the United States (US).

Telekom Malaysia Berhad wishes to announce that there is a disruption of its Internet services due to circuit faults on the SMW3 between Tuas, Singapore and Penang linking Malaysia to Hong Kong and APCN2 near Chongming, China connecting Malaysia to the United States. As a result, customers using the Internet services may experience slow browsing while accessing websites hosted in the U.S. and Hong Kong.
For what happened in January, it’s difficult telling if it was indeed a third-party contractor who dug up the wrong cable. But it’s weird noticing how every end of the month, TM seems to be having some problem. Worst of all, it’s symptoms are becoming the circuit faults. Don’t their engineers have to check these things on a regular basis?
Honestly, if they can’t even buck up on the Streamyx broadband service, then what’s going to happen when they roll out the Fibre To The Home (FTTH) residential project?
everyday like this siennnnn!!!!
Have bad/lousy streamyx so that they can upsell ppl to FFTH…
rames: I think they mentioned we’ve to endure till April 5.
cheeming: The roll out isn’t very soon right.
so guys,
so is P1 is the answer ?..
no wonder my streamyx at office and house crawl like a snail..arghh
Well, some areas are already congested for P1 based on LowYat user reports. So they definitely need to build more base stations soon if they’re looking to continue gaining more ground in the market.
Heh, that’s the usual stuff right? I wonder if Streamyx EVER have a good month in their office or our internet service? Well, Malaysia is a “in-developing” country, bear with it :)
Sorry for double… Respond to lankapo… P1 not really the answer. No service is the answer to better broadband in Malaysia. Much like Streamyx, hot/commerce area will have good connection, but others… You’ll still get the same service like Streamyx.
I’m still waiting on my trial here. LOL!
