Blog Design Workshop

Remember the many times I’ve mentioned that this blog design is still in the workshop, but pending release? Well, it’s still in the workshop without much improvements made. Why is it stuck? Why doesn’t Danny want to release something more exciting to us?

Well, it’s honestly not that I don’t want to. Trust me, I myself am actually scratching my head wondering why I haven’t turn the designs into development. So before I end up coming up with another design and stalling myself in the workshop any longer, I’m going to release current designs for feedback.

NEW Project Petaling Street (PPS) Homepage

Why you clicking on the Refresh button on the Project Petaling Street website? The update ain’t there yet. It’s right over here.

Yes, bring your blogger behind over here so you could have a look at the prototype that will be replacing the old look of the current Google theme. No more will you need to get used to that layout because we are going back into time when it was 2 columns.

PPS DESIGN LEAKED

OH MY GOD! THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE! *wails*

Just when I was starting to design the new homepage template for Project Petaling Street (PPS), I found out on Google that someone already has released a new template for PPS. ARGH! This is not happening to me.

*breathes heavily* Okie, I’ll not lose my cool and fight for what should have been mine!

I will continue to design my template and outshine that other person. You’re gonna pay, you damn criminal!

PPS Site Skeleton

What’s a site skeleton?

A site skeleton is what me and some other web designers or companies use to create a draft for a website. The skeleton is some times nothing but lines or boxes with crosses in them signifying images. Some times the skeleton also have rough lines with the letter ‘H’ at the beginning to visually remind the designer that content is placed that particular area.

The site skeleton helps me organize the elements like images, content and ads if any. It also gives my clients a rough idea of what would be expected even before a mock design is prepared. The mock design is the skeleton that has been digitized but that’ll be later.

PPS Analysis Review

This analysis is the data submitted by PPS members who took the time and answer the questions below. Thank you to all who completed it and even voiced their own opinions.

1. What is PPS main priority or goal for you?

2. What do you do on PPS?

3. What is the purpose of the Wiki for you?

4. If all services (Wiki, Blog, Pings, RSS, Directory) were placed on the homepage, will you visit them? If yes or no, please state Why?

5. Do you think all the services should have a consistent design and colour?

The reason for such an analysis as I explained in my previous post, PPS Needs You! was that this data was to help me find out PPS current weakness and enforce my own personal findings or judgements to help better PPS.

PPS NEEDS YOU!

Ever since Project Petaling Street had revamped, few have actually commented on the new layout or outlook. The new face was launched on 31st August 2005. Why did it pick such a specific date? I have no idea. But I do wonder if a change on such a significant date might confuse some bloggers of PPS real anniversary. So let’s do a little history.

Do you know when is PPS actual birthday? Was it..

  • ..9 June 2003 ?
  • ..11 June 2003 ?
  • ..30 June 2003 ?
  • ..30 June 2004 ?

Merdeka Blogger Project LAUNCHED

Whew! It’s been 4-5 days and Claire has been chasing my tail to get the project up and running as soon as possible. So basically she’s my excuse of not posting for quite awhile now. LoL!

merdekablogger.gif

But it’s finally out and it’s gone live. I’m still quite disappointed with the layout cause I know I could’ve done better somewhere somehow. But given the shortage in time and sudden change of the project concept a little, I suppose I should be happy it’s working. And I didn’t do it alone..thank goodness.

MOTOBLOG

The project that I promised to tell you all about can finally be revealed. This is my biggest freelance project that not only involved the creative but also the development. I admit that the website isn’t perfect in every way but if I were to say I could do better, every designer is a perfectionist. … Read more

I just finished revamping the design on Normz.com and it’s running on the latest version of Movable Type. Well, the revamp of my website won’t come so soon as I’ve got lots of planning to do. I’m even thinking of removing the blog and just make this website a portfolio site. Anyway, time will see … Read more
