Previously, I was invited to the media event at All IT Hypermarket organized by Tumpang.com. It was to announce the collaboration of Intel and Tumpang.com to bring much more affordable computers to Malaysia consumers. Tumpang has been around since 2007 (or earlier) plus I once did a website review on them (Tumpang).
The buzz in the CPU or processor industry is Intel’s Core i7 model. Anyway, there’s going to be less typing (if I can help it) and more photos. ;)
So let’s begin with the IT hardware recycle program by All IT Hypermarket followed by the lovely emcee of the event.

A quick summary above is speeches by Ryaz Patel (Intel Malaysia country manager) and Jef Ong (Tumpang), collaboration shot and group photo with selected Malaysia PC vendors in this program.
For those who don’t know, Tumpang is a form of bulk buying and receiving products at discounted prices. The Intel-Tumpang program offers a discount upto RM600 if the bulk reaches a number of 15 confirmed orders.

Also, you’ll not have to worry about delivery because PC vendors from All IT Hypermarket, Thunder Match, Cycom Sale and Service and Startec Computer are involved in this collaboration. Once the quota has been reached, you can pay the remaining amount at your nearest PC vendor and collect your very own Intel Core i7 machine. :)
Ryaz Patel was posed with the question to reason why Intel Malaysia is working with Tumpang. He made it very clear and simple:
- Tumpang is a Malaysia-based business organization.
- Tumpang already has a system (or engine) which exists.
- Tumpang has a well-established experience online already.
It’s good to see Intel seeking opportunities with more Malaysia online services. This gives much support for our local industry and drives more companies to create better online services.
So, does Intel want to sponsor me an Intel Core i7 powered computer to test on website design and development (and some Team Fortress 2)? :P
