My Most Popular Topics in 2007

statistics chartIt’s another number, another year. Happy new year to all readers of Websites Made Simple. Doesn’t sound too enthusiastic now, does it? Well, I never took into account the number of years which fly by. It still feels like we’re in the millennium age and it wasn’t long ago everyone was worrying about the Y2K bug.

So I’ve put together a short history lesson of my most popular blog topics in 2007. It was weird because I never did expect some of these topics becoming one of the most popular blog topics compared to another in the same month.

January
I think when I told bloggers there would be no more project petaling street (PPS), they went frantic and wanted to find out if the content aggregator we closing down. But I basically wanted to share my opinion and advice of what bloggers could do if they cease to exist.

February
It was this month Microsoft reached the next pinnacle of their company. The launch of their long awaited Windows Vista. Where as for me, I was more focused on telling readers in Malaysia; Why will I not use Windows Vista? And to date, my reasons still remain the same. I still refuse accepting Vista not only due to its software compatibility but its unnecessary ‘fort know’ security procedures.

March
I made the assumption TMNet could be losing 80% of its business because I was frustrated with their incompatible website on other browsers. The gist of the story was the TMNet website didn’t let me purchase an unlimited 24-hour wireless Internet hotspot account because I was using Apple Safari Internet browser. It’s almost like saying because I don’t use Nike shoes, I can’t buy Nike apparel.

April
A new unique online e-commerce service was launched in Malaysia. It was Malaysia’s First Online Bulk Discount Store; Tumpang. Adapting from what buyers and sellers of the Low Yat forum have continuously done, it’s about buying items at a lower price when bought together or by bulk. Maybe I should sell my 1337 Space Invader t-shirts at Tumpang too.

May
It was really slow this month. So slow, all I could write about was about how proactive I was with Simpleet. My busy schedule managing several website design projects in Malaysia and other stuff I wanted to do.

June
This month was weird because I couldn’t find any usable data for it. I’m assuming at this time I decided to switch to the Whitespace theme. Then forgot about including back snippet for Google Analytics. So there wasn’t much information here.

July, August and September
In this month, I started capitalizing on the search phrase; Malaysia iPhone. However, it was never intended to be this way. It so happened the question; Why Malaysia isn’t talking about the iPhone? came to mind. While browsing the pings at Project Petaling Street, I found little to no blogger was talking about the Apple iPhone in Malaysia when it was released.

October
This is the month of 2007 for me. It was even better than my birthday. All because the guys at MAXIMiPhone decided to give me an Apple iPhone to test drive in Malaysia. I would say it was luck and it was also because they knew how powerful blogging can be to influence a buyer’s decision. And all I had to was talk about the Apple iPhone in Malaysia. :)

November
Through my exploration of the Apple iPhone in Malaysia, I have assisted many in purchasing an Apple iPhone. But don’t get me wrong. I do NOT sell Apple iPhones. All I do is blog about my Apple iPhone in Malaysia which was given to me. I’ll basically refer all Apple iPhone buyers to MAXIMiphone since they were they ones who gave me my Apple iPhone.

December
By the end of year, I’ve generated a super healthy flow of traffic with phrases made of the keywords; Apple, iPhone and Malaysia. And speaking of keywords, it is very important to select words you would used when placing title to your post. For example; I mistakenly wanted to search for the Apple iPhone firmware version 1.1.2 and later noticed one of my articles up top.

So was 2007 a great year for me…I guess. Though not documented above, I accomplished a number of things in 2007.

  • I have a new workstation.
  • I started Simpleet Solutions with Hawk.
  • I have a new Canon DSLR camera.
  • I have a new all-in-one Brother printer.
  • I have managed to earn a healthy income from Google Adsense.
  • I attended the Bloggers Buff 2007 on responsible blogging.

Happy new year to everyone! :)
