As I was administering some of the posts over at Blogs Malaysia and leaving comments to what I thought of them, I came across one blog that had several book covers that I assumed were Amazon links.
Upon rolling over them, I was definetely greeted by an Amazon advertisement or recommendation but I’ve noticed that Amazon finally has done something to help their affiliate program members.

This is what happens when I rolled over the book cover and was greeted with an expanded floating window with further details of the book. It’s just like having a mini Amazon on your website now.
The idea might be new but the concept to me follows the hovering panels that some bloggers implement on their blogs. If you visit Kamigoroshi, the concept is the same but the implementation is different.
Amazon adapted it’s enlarging effect like what you get on their website to the floating window. And in my opinion, this makes their advertisement more interesting at the same time informative.
I think a move like this would improve higher buying numbers but there lies a setback for the affiliate members. They’d need to sacrifice the short attention span of their readers or visitors because it takes them away from the website awhile when they rollover the Amazon item.
But of course, if someone does buy the book then who’s to complain of revenue coming your way.
