Imagine what does UX mean.
If you’re somewhere close to thinking ‘User Xomething’ then you’re closer than what I thought of at first. The term UX means User Experience, which is real catchy in my opinion. They’re suppose to be a magazine and I really did wish we had something offline like this. However, they’re an online publication and you’ll need to visit UX Magazine’s website to read the articles.
But she sure is a ‘beaut’ presented by agent CSSBeauty.
Out of all the websites or portals I’ve seen needed to present a huge amount of content on the homepage, this is the one that has pulled it off really well. *standing ovation* Don’t believe me?

Just look at the part where you see a huge field with that red highlighted square placed on top which then connects lower. I’m telling you, I’ve never seen content laid out and oganized like this. Though the content are boxed up, its colors are soft enough with a tinge of icon colors that its just right.
I forgot to mention, did you notice the black box that has the quoted “Just like your favorite news site, only smarter…” That is perfect I tell you.
I also did a little snooping around in the code. I thought they used Lists to generate the order of boxes but it seems that they’ve defined a special class called List Item.
Anyway, there’s no problems that I could find about this website. It’s simple and minimalist in color and it’s layout, simply..perfect for all that content.
Probably its downside might be the intrusion of too many ads in future if they’re looking for advertisers to support their website.
There are some cool elements in the design… but imo it looks cluttered.
i think it is very well organized compare to other news portal site. Designing information architecture is a very time consuming process for sites like this. If you want cluttered, take a tour on the onion web site. THis is very well done.
And did you notice how the layout adjust nicely to different screen resolution? Try viewing it in 800 and 1024. Kudos to the design team.
and it’s run on Txp ;-)
