Rice Raiser Canadian Fundraiser Website

Brought to life by estaliblished Canadian firm Bauhouse, the Rice Raiser website is a Canadian drive of helping those in need of help locally and internationally.

Out of all the Non-Government Organization (NGO) websites I’ve seen online, I think this will be one of the Top 10 now. The website design is done in a very subtle yet meaningful way that communicates a simple message of helping children feed to continue living.

I think this is the first website I’ve seen so far with a color scheme of brown on one side and green on the other. Though it causes a little imbalance, it still somehow forms the right theme for Rice Raiser.

The other thing I really like about this layout is the smart layered placement of the content sections. Not really visible to the eye unless you’re observant is the three level arrangement of the navigation, content and sidebar.

The Rice Raiser website follows a standard consistent template through the whole surfing experience. Some might disagree with this but for a non-profit type website, I suppose even I’d have done it this way.

The Projects and Donate page are not working at the moment of this review. I’m uncertain if it’s because there’s nothing to be placed there or Bauhouse is still in the process of creating the application for it.

However, please do share your thoughts of how this Rice Raiser website could be a role model for NGO websites here in Malaysia. :)
