You read that right, Project Petaling Street (PPS) is maturing even more now. Lots of incidents have reflected back on bloggers, PPS and now Aizuddin has hatched out plans for a PPS blog and another secret project in the works.
It’s hard to guess what it is but I suppose it’s going to be something really big. He seeked 12 bloggers as ‘beta testers’ for the secret project. However, doing my weekend check on PPS just earlier had me wondering of a new panel just added above the SmartThumb ad called, Featured Blog.
Do you remember the kid wonder who became famous because of ball juggling? Do you remember a kid who qualified himself to join a European juniors football club? A dream that most Malaysians only can dream since their talent or skills weren’t up to standards of other international clubs.
If you still don’t remember, try TitusJames.blogspot.com and you should remember well. However, one thing kinda bugs me when I saw the website. It was done quite well and makes me wonder if he’s studying IT or someone helped him do it. Though I might be asking these, some bloggers are questioning if this blog really belonged to Titus.
Discussion of a Featured Blog was part of the PPS development but it was suppose to be a randomly generated name and description. The step taken in making it random was to assure fair value of publicity for all the bloggers. But I guess we aren’t going that way anymore.
The PPS blog should be coming up pretty soon with quite a list of bloggers. You can find the list of authors, HERE. You can bet that it should turnout as a kicka** type of blog..I hope.
As PPS picks up pace and matures even faster now, I just hope it doesn’t forget what was its main goal. Bringing the latest news around the Malaysian blogosphere and keep Malaysian bloggers close together. PPS is our hub of local blog information and I hope it doesn’t stray too far.

The “secret project” isn’t too secret anymore! Hahaha… a few curious minds were smart enough (with too much free time on their hands!!) to guess the URL — i saw their entry logs a few days back. Sheesh, nothing is sacred anymore! :))
Anyways, it should take another week or two before its ready for BETA testing.
And, no, is has nothing to do with the “Featured Blog”. Its true the practice of having a featured blog was mooted during the very early days of PPS, and it was actually done for a few months, then there was a big row over how a blog became “featured”, so i decided to can the idea back then. There are some reasons why i’ve decided to bring it back temporarily, but these reasons will be kept to myself for the time being.
And, yes, the PPS Blog is fun, but pls don’t raise your expectations too much — it isn’t an UBER BLOG of any kind. A few bloggers who were shortlisted tried it for a while and have now dropped out voluntarily. I’m now looking for replacements.
And, yes, PPS will stay true to itself, as long as i’m in charge at least. :) The “secret project” is ample proof of this (you’ll see what i mean when i release it — its taken a heck of lot of work and a substantial portion of the PPS T-shirt profits to buy the software!). ;)
i do believe that titusjames.blogspot.com is owned by titus himself… i read one of his post back in 2004 where he said that he is trying to searching the best skin for his blog and he also ask some of his friend to edit those script..

been pinging pps for quite sometime now. I think they have done a great job. However, there is a lot of room for improvement and having a featured blogs section would be a great improvement. Another one would be a way to access older pings.

It’s not really a plugin, it’s just some Javascript and DIV controls I got online. You can find the code easily through the source. ;)

Well, I hope Titus continues his blogging streak telling his younger fans about his experience so they’ll strive and work harder to achieve where he’s at now.
