While everyone was busy celebrating April Fools Day on April 1, some might have forgotten Google Mail was launched on April Fools. Well, I only realized this minutes ago and would like to extend my wishes to Google for Gmail.
By the way, awesome cake and I’m sure it would’ve been tasty. And thanks for Gmail, it’s totally changed my email culture and needs for a small business like Simpleet Solutions.
5 years now? Wow, I can’t believe it’s been that long! Do you remember when gmail was an invite only beta and each account was only given 7 invites? People were selling the invites on ebay for a hefty fee.
I was lucky enough to be a senior member of the worlds largest invision powered forum at the time, so I was able to snatch up my invite early in the game.
Remember how insane it was to have 1gb storage? Google changed an entire industry by requiring other email services to allocate more space to their users in order to compete.
