Business Management Software for Apple iPhone in Malaysia

Ever since the Apple iPhone arrived in Malaysia, the Apple iPhone is heralding worldwide recognition as one of the most user-friendly mobile devices today. While Apple is raking in millions of iPhone users, another company is planning to ride along this wave. But they will be mainly targeting business customers.

SAP; who mainly provides business software solutions applications and services to Small-Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and Small-Medium Industries (SMIs), said they will be releasing a new software for sales-force automation which would be compatible with Apple’s iPhone.

According to the news by ZDNet:

…”The iPhone has become such a popular thing,” said Bob Stutz, an SAP senior vice president who is responsible for developing the company’s customer relationship management software. “Everybody wants the ease of use of the iPhone.” The first generation of the iPhone software will load business contacts, information on sales prospects and account data onto the device, Stutz said.

SAP is breaking with precedent by introducing versions of the new software that are compatible with the iPhone ahead of ones for mobile devices that businesses traditionally use. These include Research In Motion’s BlackBerry, Palm’s Treo and devices that run on software from Microsoft. Stutz said that SAP had decided to introduce the iPhone software ahead of programs for those devices at the request of its salespeople, saying they prefer using iPhones to the other devices. The iPhone software, part of a new sales-force automation suite from SAP, uses a Web-based interface with drag-and-drop tools similar to ones available on Google.

I know about user-friendliness of the Apple iPhone but not the business management software by SAP. However, I do know they are one of the biggest players in the world in producing these applications. I guess this is cause one of our Malaysia website design clients actually sell their products.

Anyway, it’ll be great to see more business applications for the Apple iPhone. Especially if it’s able to compliment the current Apple iPhone user-friendliness.

  1. If they had more business apps, there’d be more affordable paid solutions for consumers to use on the iPhone. ;)
