eS Footwear

Joins the blogosphrere too. A linked section from their main website talks to people about lifestyle whilst writers are wearing their goods. This is a sure clear sign that many companies are soon going to make an appearance online through the form of blogging sooner or later. Anyway, as short a post as this might be, have a read at their website HERE.

ZUG

Made me smile again when I thought my life is a living hell today. As you all might know, or probably I haven’t mentioned..*thinks* Anyway, a huge lightning recently hit my area back in Malaysia. From that you already might have guessed that a few computers might’ve been fried. Well, thankfully only my router and babee’s comp got temporarily put out of order as I’d might say.

And of course, when something like this is broken you either get it fixed or just replace it. Replacing anything is out of the question as hardware prices aren’t exactly dirt cheap low. With a project payment still yet to be banked in, my account is pretty much drying up. So while I’m stressing about funds back home to get things fixed as I’m the ‘home computer engineer’, I’m also being hammered by other stuff here.

I’m like on the scale of the Justice statue though I’m not leaning anywhere near her boobs. However, thank goodness with a friend like Hawk, he managed to pass me a website to stamp back a smile on my face. Visit the ZUG website, HERE and be entertained. :) The article that really brought me snickers was THIS one.

If you’re under pressure or the weather, have a read and hope this’ll remove the socks of your feet awhile. :)

May 1 Reboot

*note: All links in this entry OPENs in NEW WINDOW.

Is back again. For those who don’t what it is. It’s all about having a winning design for a personal portfolio or rather a non-profit website. Reason is if you win one of the spots, you’ll get free hosting space from Media Temple (mt) FREE FOR LIFE! Yes, you read it right. Free for your entire life till you even blog from above the clouds about Zeus being pinched by Hercules.

Media Temple has been recognized to host many website designers or designers from almost any field. They offer very professionaly hosting at quite costly prices (well, to me of course). Anyway, you can read about the specifications of the Reboot, HERE. I was looking at 2004 winners and loved a few of them. Here’s a small list: :)

I actually find the results abit bias in some views because most of the designers produce Flash works. I’m not saying they aren’t great but few of the winners to me, I think they very much failed in usability.

Autism Victoria

Is the first Australian website that I’ve come across so far that has used CSS for its entire website. Not only does it support web standards but the company that made the website definetely had an ideal for web standards some day. :) The company that came up with this great piece; EPS.com.au It’s rather weird as their company website doesn’t display the standard that you see on the Autism Victoria website. o.0

Anyway, to have a look at the Autism Victoria, surf HERE. Such lovely colors and such nice simple layout for reading. :D

I almost forgot about another website that I came across and to me it utilizes the full functionaly of Flash for a website. It doesn’t have RIAs but the functions or previews given to a visitor is by far the most suitable in its Travel category. Makes me want to holiday too at the RoyalCarribean.com Here’s a screenshot of the website: :)

I rarely post up screenshots of websites and having said that, you should know what to experience. ;) Cheers.

Symphony

Australia’s very own web publishing system has just made it’s debut. It sports all the needs that you’d want for a publishing system. It’s team of designers and developers look rather scary but I suppose they should be a fun lot after reading the team’s profile. :)

The company, 21degrees is based in Brisbane and have a team of dedicated workers. Though they didn’t list the clients they have, it looks like they’re a pretty big gun group in Australia. They’ve dabbled with many project of their own. Symphony being one of them.

It seems that everyone is jumping onto the web publishing bandwagon ever since MovableType themselves have come this far. Though as many now know, being a paid for system it might lose its popularity. Sigh, I guess in the US clients wouldn’t mind paying for a backend system if it was that good.

But do you think clients here would do that? I bet only a finger of them might and that finger ain’t containing many asians. Anyway, you can have a look at Symphony HERE or check out 21degrees HERE.
