Other than “How are you?” and “Would you like to join me for lunch?”, what are the top 10 questions you would ask your clients before a project begins? Getting the right information for a client’s project is crucial to its success and building a better business relationship with your client. Asking relevant but ineffective questions will waste time and worst scenario, annoy your client.
I’ve not found our real top 10 but I think we’re getting very near it. In 10 questions, we learn about our clients background, their behaviour, their customers and the requirements for the project. Aren’t you curious what we ask our clients?
- What does your business do?
- What is the goal of your website?
- Do you have an existing website?
- If Yes, what is the website address?
- Who is your main target audience using the website?
- What makes you unique compared to your competitors?
- What information do you want to put in your website?
- Are the website updates performed by us?
- When do you need the website completed?
- How much is the budget for this project?
The questions above allows us to find out more about the client’s business, their customers, their expectations and lastly, their behaviour. It’s important to understand a client behaviour not for the sake of pleasing but for the sake of advising and knowing how to approach them without misunderstandings later.
