I just finished reading the Creating Passionate Users blog and their new article, The hi-res user experience is something that explains the confusion of why our passion helps us aim to be better in our work.
People are not passionate about things they know nothing about. They may be interested. They may spend money. But without the enhanced skill and knowledge that adds resolution, there is no real passion.
This just hits right on the money about myself and my passion for website design.
The passion to instil into ourselves if we show interest in a certain topic won’t work completely without the passion or desire to discover more of that interest.
Creating Passionate Users actually highlighted a few examples from a musician who has a passion to add more resolution to their music and the average Joe who’s got a passion for Excel because when he knows the software well, it isn’t just a tool but a simulation software.
I found the article amazing to explain one of the clues of why passion drives the user in a different direction. When you have passion about someone, you’d go further to just learn about their history and life. And we’re not talking about obsession where the person turns into a stalker later.
My passion for website design since I was 13 years old has helped me follow up trends like xHTML/CSS, the trends of website design, the marketing involved when creating websites, the involvement of becoming an advisor in my field and even led me to another passion of building a business.
What is or has your passion done for you so far that it’ll you’ll happily usher into the New Year?
happy new year foo!
2006 more websites ya!
