QuickOrder and QuickPay Your Starbucks Coffee Using The Apple iPhone

iphone and starbucksWhy do a lot of people love using Apple products? What is so different about the Apple iPhone compared to other mobile phones? Well, obviously one of them is its great looking interface but Apple stands out because it continues to create products and applications customer will use…and keep on using.

It’s been rumored and reported from Forbes, Apple has been researching integrating future devices with the ability to place on-the-go orders at local stores. In fewer words, walk into your nearby Starbucks outlet and order via your Apple iPhone then pay at the counter.

Besides website design in Malaysia, one of my other focus is user experience design. The short version of what it is, I design based on how the solution is used. And the upcoming QuickOrder and QuickPay application for Starbucks is just this.

The concept design above is by Phil Lu of GENOCO. I would have to admit this is a really successful concept design. Because just by looking at the concept designs, I can already visualize how I’ll be placing my order at the nearest Starbucks.

A tiny suggestion I personally might make is to the last step of the process. I’m not sure why but I feel the total amount should be displayed below the product (on the right with the details) then position the order where the total amount previously was.

Anyway, it’s looking really good and I believe Starbucks will be in good hands with Phil.

p.s: Starbucks, please bring this to Malaysia! 🙂

Well, I guess in the US their lines can get really long especially in the morning so this speeds things up. Whether or not it could improve efficiency in Malaysia, I wouldn’t know. 😛

That’s a nice looking app, Mar. Has it been implemented into any cafes recently?
