Maybank2u myzone Web Design Contest
Updated: September 4, 2007
Closing date is now September 15, 2007 (12:00AM)
While doing some online banking at Maybank2u, I became curious of a new area called; myzone. I found out myzone was meant to be Maybank2u for teenagers. Talk about building a brand to reach the youths.
So anyway, while I was there snooping around I found something of my interest. In conjunction with the launch of Maybank2u’s new myzone for teenagers dubbed “It’s my account, it’s my freedom”, they’re holding a web design content. Interested yet?
So how many mockups do we need? How many webpages do we need to build? What are the prizes?! How much money can I win from Maybank2u?!
Well, in summary here are the contest details:
- myzone Web Design Contest (“Contestâ€Â) starts at 12 midnight on 16 March 2007 and ends at 12 midnight on 15 September 2007 (“Contest Periodâ€Â). (This is weird because it’s 6-months!) Entries received after the contest period will be ineligible for the prize draw.
- The Contest is open to all Maybank Savings/Current Account holders. (Thank God! I thought only teenagers from 12 years old to 18 years old and below.)
-
- Design a mock of myzone web pages (2 pages) as follows:
- myzone Main page
- Content page (Banking – I don’t get this!)
-
- Ensure the design to contain the following:
- myzone logo
- Maybank2u.com logo
- Tagline: It’s my account, it’s my freedom
- Login button
- Promotion Section
- Highlight Section
- Banner Advertisements
-
- Ensure the design format should be as follows:
- jpeg or jpg only.
- Total sizes of 500KB
- Submit the design together with their name and contact number to rmsechannels@maybank.com.my
There isn’t much information regarding the prizes yet but all I know there’s a Personal Computer, a Console, a Music Player, Electronic Gadgets and Handphones up for grabs. So that’s a pretty sw33t deal if you ask me.
If you’re using Mozilla Firefox, don’t expect to find their ‘pop-up window’ with all the details to work because it doesn’t. I had to use Internet Explorer to get the appropriate details. But to help all Firefox users take back the Web, here are the links you could open in new tabs on your own:
I hope all web standards supporters in Malaysia will give this a try. I would really love to see one of our local banks finally adopt web standards and be the first to do it too. So if you’re bank manager or employee stumbling on this, tell your directors or managers they will the FIRST bank to support web standards in Malaysia!
So anyone interested in participating?
