The Movie Which Makes People Imagine
Yesterday I attended the screening of Mr.Magorium’s Wonder Emporium at Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC), 1Utama. Ever since I viewed the trailer on Apple’s website, it looked like one of those fun and no brainer movies to watch. And true enough, it was a movie I could sit back and pay more attention to the lines than the action. This movie is totally made for kids so if you’ve got children, they’ll have a blast with this one.
If you’re just a grown up aiming to catch a new movie, you’d better bring along your childish side. But don’t hate your girlfriend or boyfriend for bringing you along. If you’re not keen on watching the movie, just be amused with the opening and especially closing credits. What other movie which is fun comes out with the credit; the people who paid other people for this movie. 🙂
Everyone wishes they were young again in their life. And I felt this way while watching this movie. It made me realize how I’ve grown up as an adult to limit my imagination. In the story of Mr.Magorium, you bring yourself to a magical wonder through your imagination. While you may look at toys as just toys, your imagination helps turn them into living things.
Remember the fire truck you used to play with. The one with an extending ladder and you’d be pushing it all over the floor mimicking the siren. Then you’d have a friend nearby maybe holding a Superman figurine coming to aid you. Ahh, those were the good old day when imagination was given freedom. Freedom from logic and freedom to dream.
I’ve no idea why but by the end of the movie, I felt like I just received an imagination boost. I felt my mind roaming more free, wanting to speed my car as though it was a toy I was playing with. The older you are, the bigger toys you get to play with. 😛
But seriously, while I was in the car driving back suddenly solutions to my website design work came to me. Inspiration is hard to come by for a designer some times and this was ‘steam’ pack. It reminded me to not limit my imagination and let my mind roam free.
And the movie made me wish – get this, to buy a block of wood to put on my table. The square block of wood is something you’ll find in the movie so I’m keeping quiet about it. However, the lesson I got from this was if your imagination was allowed to open up…you will think out of the box. This block of wood is that concept.
So if you need an easy movie to digest, see the movie which make people imagine.
