I Need More Bloggers for Advertorial

person staring at monitorPreviously I was tasked to help a client seek 50 bloggers for advertorial. Thank you to bloggers who applied and I’m sorry to bloggers who haven’t been selected. I’m not sure if this is unfortunate or good luck because they’d like me to find more bloggers to write advertorial for them.

In the last round, the requirements I advised the client were very lenient therefore this round I’m going to be less lenient. It’s not because I want to be the bad guy here but I’d like to ensure most of the bloggers applying will fit the clients requirements. Better fit means better chances of the client selecting you for advertorial.

So here are the new blogger requirements:

  1. Must own a blog. (not necessarily with personal domain)
  2. Written in either English, BM or Chinese.
  3. Minimum 3 MONTHS blogging.
  4. Minimum 1000 UNIQUE VISITORs per month.
  5. Must have a site analytics tool like Google Analytics, Sitemeter or others.

If you meet the requirements, please email (etsuko.lyn at gmail.com) with the following subject line; Blogger Enrollment.

Including the following information:

Real Name:

Blog URL: http://

Blog Genre:

Attach: Screenshot of the last 30 days absolute unique visitor numbers.

Application closes on July 18, 2008.

Disclaimer:
Though you may fit the requirements, there is no guarantee you will be selected because client will do final selection of blogs they feel most confident in awarding the advertorial too. And I apologize in advance if your blog wasn’t selected.

Malaysia Blogger is Missing

Updated on July 21, 2008:
A commenter asked me what is the current situation. And my reply was, there is no more credibility, no more faith, no more confidence and not a single sign of responsibility taken from the missing blogger.

I’m worried for him. And most importantly, my clients are in a state of panic hearing about this too. He’s not been contactable the past 72 hours. He’s not answering his mobile phone calls and texts. His website has been suspended pending action of renewal. He’s a freelance Malaysia website designer and currently is responsible for 2 of my projects.

I don’t want to jump to conclusions but clients are already thinking irresponsibility and unprofessional. Therefore, if you’re a friend of Ikram or do manage to contact him please inform him to speak to me urgently.

Is Javascript a Website Designer Career Requirement?

They say times are changing. And it’s not only the fuel, even career requirements for website designers might see a different demand. Malaysia has an ample resource of Malaysia website designers ranging from students, hobbyists and companies. Lately I read an article titled;
How Good Are You at JavaScript and CSS? I’ve seen someone in UK mentioning this and they too said Javascript was one of the website designer’s requirement.

I’ve written on how to become a creative designer and was asked if drawing skills were a website designer’s requirements but it looks like times are changing. It’s as though Javascript is soon to become one of the requirements for a website designer.

Malaysia Web Accessibility Conference

Last week I attended the web accessibility conference organized by the National Council For the Blind Malaysia (NCBM). This was one conference I didn’t have to second think of attending. Simply because one of the invited speakers was from the World Wide Web Consortium; better known as W3C to us Malaysia web standardistas.

And her name was; Shawn Henry. She’s the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) Outreach Coordinator at W3C. Besides her, I would also like to acknowledge Silatul Rahim from the Malaysian Association of the Blind (MAB). He demonstrated how blind users use a screen reader and…he is blind as well.
