WordPress 2.9 Features You Definintely Want

Maybe WordPress 2.9 started on the wrong foot with the weird CURLPROTO_FILE bug. But after watching the introductory video of Carmen (WordPress 2.9) I’ve decided to not think about the bug at all.

I never knew the WordPress team had made this new version so much more. Instead of me having to describe it in letters and words for you, watch the video and you’ll want to upgrade to WordPress 2.9.

So, did you find the highlighted features cool? Just say, yes.

Previously, thumbnails in posts could only be achieved by custom fields or integrating scripts like timthumb but now, it’s all with the default WordPress baby! :)

P1 Wimax Leaves The Decision To Malaysia Subscribers

p1-packetone-networksThe Malaysia wimax provider; PacketOne Networks (P1), has taken a step further to acknowledge the existence and importance of its subscribers in Malaysia. Besides organizing floor discussions with its current free subscribers from Low Yat, they’re now asking us, the Malaysia Internet subscribers (consumers, if you may), to tell them the next location of their Wimax rollout.

Simple Quickie: P1 Website Review, WordPress 2.7 and PC Fair III 2008

P1 Website Review
They recently revamped their website after our P1 open floor discussion. While the rest of the attendees left, I actually stayed behind for another 30 minutes or so to advice how they could’ve improved their website. And to my surprised, they did just that within the next few weeks. Plus, I’m going to tell you why I’m impressed in my website review.

WordPress 2.7
It rocks and I’m looking forward to upgrade this blog with it later. Before that, I’ll also share the 40 reasons why you should upgrade to WordPress 2.7. It’s got lots of screenshots and lots of content to be written. ;)

So, look out for the upcoming 3 articles. :D

How Much Will The New Maybnk2u Lose?

Updated October 17, 2008 @ 4:19PM:
Guys, David told me I can login via the Classic version now.

Though there were good times of attending the new Maybank2u sneak preview, I’m beginning to worry about their website now – I’m very worried.

Despite it not being the end of the world, I’ve always used Maybank2u for a number of important online tasks; fund transfers and mobile topup. All of this is being done online because I don’t want to have to force myself to visit a 7-Eleven to get my topup or go to the ATM (which breaks down often) nearby. My tasks are so common it makes me now ponder; how much online transactions is Maybank2u losing right now due to their heavy load?

MCMC Dooms The Malaysia High Speed Broadband Project

I personally feel the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has doomed Malaysia Internet users to kingdom come for broadband. Though I’ve heard the MCMC board are really knowledgeable and respected. But their recent decision of leaving the whole High Speed Broadband Project (HSBB) to TMNet for 7 years left me in disbelief of their abilities or observation on what’s happening to our Malaysia broadband state now.

I mean seriously, haven’t they ever heard of one if not thousands (or millions) of complaints the TMNet Streamyx users have voiced all over the Internet? In fact, there is even a Facebook group condemning the ISP and worst, their customer service. Plus, TMNet doesn’t even care if they’re losing 80% of the business online.
