Earn Money From Your Favorite Forum

money pileIt’s my second last day in Penang and I’m really going to miss all the food here. Nonetheless, I’m sure any Penangite will tell me after living their whole life here the food will get boring. Plus, I don’t think I can live driving here. Anyway, about earning money from your favorite forum.

While doing some reading online, I came across someone mentioning he’s making money by selling his forum signature space. I was shocked because I underestimated how valuable our forum signature really cost. It may not be big money, but it’s consistent money.

Guess you’re now asking; how much money can I make from a measly forum signature?

Well, like I said…it’s not much. We’re looking at possibly USD4 for 1 text link for 30 days. But the highest I’ve come across is possibly, USD60 per month. This amount paid most likely accommodates an image banner and text link.

However, we’re not done with only the forum signature. I did some further reading and found out some of the forum members even are willing to sell their avatar images. Imagine, asking for USD5 per month only for the advertise to place an 80 pixels by 80 pixels image. Gosh, talk about finding opportunities for making money.

And when I think about it, now I remember a friend of mine mentioning someone who paid him to place their banner in his forum signature space. Damn! Now I think about myself, I could be making a good amount of money selling my forum signature space on Low Yat forum.

Have you sold your forum signature yet?

p.s: See everyone back in Kuala Lumpur.

Another good argument for why my favorite forum on the Internets (the quartertothree forums run by freelance game reviewer Tom Chick) has absolutely no avatars or signatures.

Weirdly enough, there was a swimmer’s forum I newly joined and when I placed my Feedburner RSS feed into the signature they instantaneously said I was spamming or openly advertising in the forum. Gosh!

    Aisyah:
Well, it might not be on some forums. Or, it all depends on how you do it.

Now let’s make a good living posting on forums (with advertisers buying our signatures).

Well, that depends how much and how consistent can you get advertisers to buy up your signatures. :P

I can’t believe people would actually pay to advertise on forum signatures or avatars! O_O

Don’t they realize that most forum browsers ignore those signatures?
Meh, forum advertising? Not my cup of tea. -_-

    @Danny:
Was it a local swimmers forum?

Yup, that was the forum, Deimos. :)

Well, some people are mainly aiming for higher exposure rather than higher conversion rates.

I have experience earn money from avatar and sig link. You can get $20 per month even higher than that depending on your reputation and no of post daily.

I can show you where is best tplace for you to make this type of earning.
