Chong:
I believe many in the web industry practice false honesty. It's honesty but not entirely. The example is when the provider answers yes to every request you mention at an unexpected low fee. It's good to hear they can do it but it also clouds your question on how well can they do it.

Penny:
Right on. Which is why the more prominent bloggers now are sharing the truth about earning a comfortable wage from blogging - easy or hard.

I think honesty will work in a group that values honesty. In the story, clearly 99% of people do not.

I agree with this story too...honesty is the best policy. Not only would you gain trust of people working with you but with customers too!

It really depends on the recipients. Sometimes, honesty leads to deep sh*t. Hehe. Having said that, it doesn't mean everybody must lie because I hate liars.

There was one instance when I was approached by a credit card promoter (if that's what you call them). I asked him about free for life (FFL) like every other company preaches. He told the truth about the credit card he is promoting and all and I ended up signing one via him not because I wanted one (ok, here I lied because I really need a spare one. Hehe.) but it is because of him being honest about the whole FFL thingy a year after approval.

Honesty is the best policy, some said. I do agree on this and I hope everybody practice it.
