Why Malaysia Bloggers Covered The Edison Chen Sex Scandal?

grunge sex scndalThink about it. If you were a fan of Edison Chen, Gillian Chung, Cecillia Cheung, Bobo Chan and whoever was related in this Hong Kong sex scandal, will you be blogging about it? Will you as their fan and Malaysia blogger tell the whole world about your idol’s connection to the scandal?

I’m neither their fan but thought why are Malaysia bloggers covering the whole Edison Chen sex scandal? Obviously, everyone loves a scandal but I believe it was because every Malaysia blogger wanted to be the source of the scandal itself. They all wanted to start a few good posts so other bloggers will storm their blogs – mostly, for the photos.

Now I wonder how far Malaysia bloggers would go to increase their blog traffic. Proof of this activity is increasing as the Malaysia elections are coming up. More and more bloggers are talking about who will win, how will they win, why will they win to mentioning ministers. And to think, Malaysia bloggers started blogging responsibly after incidents of some were arrested the last time.

The fact of the matter is it seems bloggers are really search engine traffic hungry cannibals. They’ll digest (use, in this case) any topic to their advantage so it brings them more search engine traffic. Forget about search engine optimization or reviews, scandals and rumors are the way to go.

As they say, bad word of mouth travels faster, further and longer than good ones.

In the meantime, while others are still enjoying the photos and traffic, the actresses and actors have already come forth to try and control the situation. Though we all know, damage has already been done. Nonetheless, I found this Edison Chen apology posted on YouTube.

p.s: I personally don’t know why but his eyes and expression in the whole video is very unconvincing. You?

p.p.s: Happy Valentines day…

I’m very sure there are plenty pornography thronged men who’ve been wanking off to the actresses, Dave. LOL! :P

Well, I have not posted about this Hong Kong Sex Scandal thingie on my site though. No time for that. -_-

Regarding our upcoming election thingie, I got something in mind, and yes it is again related to EntreCard.

Perhaps you would like to chip when I got it running. ;)

    Cheers, mate. :D

ROFL! I knew I had that coming, Deimos.

So if you’re an actor, you become expressionless in real life? :P

Anyway, you going to run a giveaway 8 Entrecard credits to the one who manages to guess who’ll win the Election? LOL!

Can’t do that. I am not particularly skilled at masking my emotions. o_O

Gah! You blew my cover! It was going to be a surprise LOL.
Well, not many Malaysian Bloggers are that active in EnterCard anyway. (I think)

Not exactly a giveaway (but a giveaway nonetheless) since I am going to host a betting house for it.

ROFL! Probably because it was predictable-kua. Anyway, simple ideas makes managing simpler. But by doing this, it’s like creating a gambling environment within Entrecard itself. LOL!

Nah… I don’t think Malaysian bloggers are that interested in the sex or scandal part of the subject.

We’re just shameless traffic whores who’d do anything for a few more hits :P

  8. Response #8 by Danny Foo on February 15th, 2008

    LOL! How few, Azmeen? :P
