Domain Name Price Increases Again

Today, my domain registrar informed me the domain name registration prices are increasing. If my memory serves me right, this is the second increase this year. Why am I concerned about it since I only have DannyFoo.com? Well, I’m also the co-founder of Simpleet Solutions; a registered Malaysia website design company, so like how political clashes affect businesses even economical trends affect the company and its team.

This is the message my registrar sent me:

Because select registries are increasing the prices of domains to us, the prices of .com, .net, .org and .info domains are going up 40 cents. This will be an industry wide change and will affect all registrars effective in October.

When I read it again, you may or may not be affected depending on who your registry is but I’m now thinking if Simpleet will have to increase its domain price registration when client’s need to register a domain name. Hmm…

It’s weird ever since our parents have found email, I’d admit they could be the source of all the emails being forwarded to me. But I’m not blaming them since there was a time when we found email, we too continuously forwarded messages to our friends thinking it was fun. So I guess it’s a cycle, you know.

And this is one of the emails my Dad recently passed to me. I’d like to share it here because I can so relate to it and it really makes me feel good. YouTube as a Social Media Marketing Platform

There was one time I asked; What is social media marketing? I’ve not found out enough to be an expert yet. But what I’ve observed so far is many use online video sharing websites like YouTube, Vimeo and others as a social media marketing platform. A place where you can expect thousand of visitors sitting in front of their monitors watching Internet videos and commenting on them.

Have you seen any Malaysia company take advantage of YouTube? Or, Vimeo? Is it because it’s not really in our Malaysia culture to stare into our monitors to watch videos online? Or, is the video we are watching isn’t as entertaining as what we view in the television?

Using Google Chrome Internet Browser For 24 Hours

There is a new Internet browser in the market and brought to us by the boys (and girls) of Google Inc. I found out about their new Internet browser; Chrome, yesterday via their Inside Adsense email newsletter. The way I see it, their Internet browser will be in direct competition to Mozilla Firefox, Opera and Safari. And yes, if you want me to mention it – Internet Explorer.

I’ve been using Chrome almost completely the whole day yesterday except during the time I had a meeting in the afternoon. This was because Chrome is only released for Windows at the moment. *wails* But as I type this entry on Chrome, I’m slowly noticing and appreciating the additional potential it has to offer me. So, how does Google Chrome fair against the others?
