Malaysia Blogger is Missing
Updated on September 3, 2008:
The Malaysia blogger in question has disappeared again. Due to this, Simpleet had been forced to terminate his services and hopes he’ll not only wisen up but in future, prepare to accept more responsibility and be more professional in his future business matters.
Updated on July 21, 2008:
A commenter asked me what is the current situation. And my reply was, there is no more credibility, no more faith, no more confidence and not a single sign of responsibility taken from the missing blogger.
I’m worried for him. And most importantly, my clients are in a state of panic hearing about this too. He’s not been contactable the past 72 hours. He’s not answering his mobile phone calls and texts. His website has been suspended pending action of renewal. He’s a freelance Malaysia website designer and currently is responsible for 2 of my projects.

I don’t want to jump to conclusions but clients are already thinking irresponsibility and unprofessional. Therefore, if you’re a friend of Ikram or do manage to contact him please inform him to speak to me urgently.
Is Javascript a Website Designer Career Requirement?
They say times are changing. And it’s not only the fuel, even career requirements for website designers might see a different demand. Malaysia has an ample resource of Malaysia website designers ranging from students, hobbyists and companies. Lately I read an article titled;
How Good Are You at JavaScript and CSS? I’ve seen someone in UK mentioning this and they too said Javascript was one of the website designer’s requirement.
I’ve written on how to become a creative designer and was asked if drawing skills were a website designer’s requirements but it looks like times are changing. It’s as though Javascript is soon to become one of the requirements for a website designer.

My First Webmaster Malaysia Gathering
There are like tons of forums around and it so happens one of them I rarely visit is Webmaster Malaysia. However, one of the things I currently like is to attend casual events or gatherings organized either by forum members, bloggers or others who’d like to discuss on a topic of similar interest.
The Webmaster Malaysia forum community recently had a gathering at The Curve yesterday (July 5, 2008). This event was planned a month ago and was going to be sponsored by the website hosting company; Exabytes. Thank you, Exabytes and I look forward to seeing you guys supporting the local Internet industry players like us in future.

Free Online Video Provider Veoh Bans Malaysia Viewers
This news is roughly a month old or longer but I never did look for what apparent reason the free online video source; Veoh, decided to ban Malaysia viewers. Not only that, apparently more than 30 countries have been inserted into the country banned list. If you think that’s bad, here’s the best explanation Veoh provided to enquirers:
Veoh is maintaining markets when we have the highest concentration of viewers.
As vague as it sounds, my business partner has described their action as “not many people use our service, so let’s stop them from using our service altogether!” And I’d say 3-cheers for Veoh, now all Malaysia users and other banned cuontries have the best reason to use YouTube more.
