Oscars.com
Or known to TV viewers as the Academy Awards, just came to my mind that their website doesn’t somewhat feel professional in some sense. It hit me when I was finding out who won the Best Animated Short Film award. It’s weird that they can spend so much money on the stage and other nifty things for the awards ceremony but not put aside a small amount to create a better appearance online. Abit of a letdown here now.
Other than that website, another website I think deserves a mention for its unprofessional look is the Grammy website. Yes, though it isn’t as bad as the Oscars but it’s almost equally degrading in terms of first impressions online. It might be just me today but I always thought for these websites, their impressions would’ve been one of the first things on their mind.
Anyway, that’s the rant for today on websites.
Cheers.
More Websites
I’ve manage stumble across thanks to my designers-depot newsletter. And from the list today, I present to you these 3 websites that are good in my books.
This Polish designer relocated to UK and has an astounding website. I’m not sure of the meaning of the website but the eyecandy is delicious. The other thing that I like about his website is the concept I guess. Anyway, don’t wanna ramble so much about his website so visit it, HERE.
Next up we have another UK portfolio. He, however is a professional photographer but also does some post production stuff. He’s got a really ‘neat’ portfolio having done clients like Nike. You should also check out his behind the scenes where he explained how’d he achieve some of his work. Astrounding stuff if you ask me. Don’t believe me, have a look HERE.
Next in queue is a 3D artist that I believe has in hand more motion grpahic experience then a 3D persona. His website is quite entertaining though I’m not too fond of the viewing size. You’ll get what I mean when you’re at his website, HERE.
ZoomQuilt
Is all about a collaboration of a total of 45 artists. Then later one person stitched them altogether. Now, you might be thinking that when I meant it’s like a long panoramic kinda thing.. HAH! But you are wrong, try imagining zooming into the picture on and on like an infinite loop.
I’m serious, it might be old school but with variety of artists’ work combined, you get a final piece like this HERE. Enjoy!
